New souvenir programme was named after a well-known Petricic poster Battle for Belgrade, which was made in 1983, as a result of his collaboration with Dusko Radovic, in one hand, and the City Bureau of Environmental Protection, on the other side. Jellied, and above all, a witty visual promotion of Serbian capital through the fight for its more beautiful look, may best be interpreted in this poster. At a time when it was created, it was occurred frequently so called military exercises in which the "blue" were enemies of the "red" who were our, so  the author used for the basic idea of posters. Blue try hard from to destroy and make dirty Belgrade, and the red defend it wholeheartedly. At one site, Petričić even used the image of the then mayor of Belgrade, Nenad Bogdanovic, who were kidnapped by blue who are running with him in a boat down the muddy Sava river. Petričić main idea was to actually draft one recognizable and most frequently used theme in Belgrade - the view from Zemun and New Belgrade side and to add it little events.

Here's what we on this occasion the author writes from Toronto where he lives since 1993:

After my last year's exhibition at the Museum of Applied Art, which is among other exhibits, was exposed and poster Battle of Belgrade, several visitors asked me where he can get posters printed image. Since it had happened the same a few times in Toronto, fell my mind to engage some of the re-printing of posters. Belgrade Window Souvenir Shop is the place where tI pass by frequently suring my in Belgrade, so I had no doubts on whom to offer the job. People from Belgrade Window  were, of course, inventive and offered to make the complete set of products based on poster and so quickly come to an agreement .... I feel great satisfaction that after so many years, the poster will be offered Belgraders again, this time in various forms.

Dusan Petričić graduated from the Graphics Department of the Belgrade Academy of Applied Arts in 1969, in class of Professor Bogdan Kršić. In recent decades, as political cartoonists, he is present on the major Yugoslav newspapers and magazines. From 1969 to 1993 he worked as a cartoonist in Belgrade Novosti newspaper, and since 1993 regularly cooperates with several leading North American newspapers: The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Toronto Star, Scientific American ... from January 2009,  Dusan Petricic becomes a permanent associate of Politika Newspapers.  As a co-author or illustrator has created over 30 books for children that are published in the former Yugoslavia or North America. For both his books and political caricatures, he has won countless awards around the world: Belgrade, Montreal, Tokyo, Budapest, Amsterdam, Leipzig, Moscow, Ankara, New York, Toronto, Skopje ... He was a professor of Book Equipment and Illustrations at the Belgrade Academy of Applied Arts and a professor of Animation and Illustrations of Sheridan College, Oakville, Canada.
