Art Gallery

Situated on the ground floor at the very beginning of Knez Mihailova Street, the Art Gallery has been one of the most prestigious exhibition places in Belgrade over four and a half decades. Relevant works of the local scene within the realm of contemporary visual and fine arts have been presented at the gallery over that period, whereas the international art production has been more and more introduced over the last few years.
Due to its programme concept to present valuable and new, the Art Gallery has promoted almost all relevant movements and phenomena within the realm of contemporary visual art – from imagination and informel, lyric figuration, geometric abstraction and expressionism, video and electronic media production, intermedia and site specific works, to the new art practices.
Petar Lubarda, Mića Popović, Ivan Tabaković, Zoran Pavlović, Olga Božičković-Popović, Milija Nešić, Radomir Reljić, Peđa Nešković, Slobodana Matić, Leonid Šejka, Marija Dragojlović, Milica Tomić, Goranka Matić, Aleksandar Kujučev, Ivan Grubanov, Vladimir Perić, Radoš Antonijević, Škart Group, Jagoda Buić, Zagreb-based „Mart“ group (Krsto Hegedušić, Ferdinand Kulmer...), Gabrijel Stupica, Lazar Ličenoski and many other authors, who have given their personal touch to the art scene of the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, have exhibited their works at the Gallery.
Lectures, presentation of individual opuses, national art scenes, international phenomena and tendencies, demonstrations of work processes, round tables, workshops and panel discussions with the authors have been an integral part of the Art Gallery programme.
The Gallery Art Council, comprised of external associates and Centre’s curators, takes part in preparation of the programme concept.
