Within the project The Painting of Belgrade Informel, started in 2007, in order to mark 50th Anniversary of The Cultural Center of Belgrade, in 2010 will be organized the monographic exhibition dedicated to informel painting of Vladislav Todorovic. Since the idea of this project has been based on a new reading of (critical, philosophical, sociological, cultural) anthology exhibition of Lazar Trifunovic The Young Belgrade Painters (Z. Pavlovic, B. Protic, Ž.Turinski, V. Todorovic), occurred in 1962, the exhibition that had promoted this artistic direction in our post-war modernism, after the exhibitions of early works and paintings by Zoran Pavlovic, Branko Protic and Zivojin Turinskog, the fourth exhibition in serial will deal with the works of Vladislav Todorovic, from the period 1960-1967, when the artist finished studies at the Academy in Belgrade and had been beginning his exhibition activity.
The exhibition Vladimir Todorovic, 1960-1967, will include 10-15 works by this author that will be borrowed from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, National Museum in Belgrade, the Gallery of Modern Art in Zrenjanin, the National Museum in Krusevac, Belgrade and state institutions, and from private collections. As the same as in previous settings, it will be followed by the standard exhibition catalog / book, with study text written by art critic Slobodan Ristic, that will analyze the personal contribution of this artist to the informel art movement, as well as this period of work from the perspective of the whole of his artistic works. Within the catalog will be found reproductions of all exhibited works, extensive biographies of artists, with complete bibliography, being specially a valuable document since this is the painter whose work is still not known due to the insufficient arranged and processed materials.
In the program accompanying the exhibition, there will be organized discussions, presentations and workshops where will be presented the personal contribution of Silja Todorovic to Belgrade informel art movement, then his exhibitions in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis 1963-67, organized in order to promote informel movement, about the parallels between the Yugoslav and international artistic scene in the early 60's, the cultural environment in which the artist was creating and living, his interest in soccer, and so on.
Following on the previous exhibitions of the same serial, this setting will be designed to expose, in addition to works of art, a segment devoted to documentary material, art criticism and photographs of artists from the holdings of museums and private archives. It will be shown and the projection of video and tv material relating to interviews with the artist and shows dedicated to informel, art and culture of the late fifties and early sixties of the last century.
