Filip Rađenović, in his solo exhibition Rapture, addresses violence against bodies perceived as different, undesirable, and threatening in our society. A series of photographs depict drag characters bearing visible signs of violence and abuse. These works give identity and voice to bodies that have collected scars over a lifetime of navigating societies rooted in fear and hatred toward LGBT+ individuals.
Filip Rađenović is a visual artist working in the fields of photography, illustration, video, and drag. The central motif of his work is the human or human-like being, whether in photography, drawing, or illustration. By exploring the world of drag expression and the power of transformation, he found a link between photographic portraits and illustration by placing himself in the roles of various characters he would illustrate.
