Opening of the exhibition: Thursday, July 10, at 7 p.m.

Artistic Director: Aleksandar Kujučev

In his solo exhibition, Miroslav Terzić presents a selection of his photography series. The author is well-known for his work in advertising and the film industry. Terzić’s most recent photographic work, “Longing”, demonstrates this proficiency in fashion, applied, and film photography. The title alone indicates the author’s intention of revealing the deepest conflicts of the being itself – the area where all unsaid words are buried – through carefully designed, highly sensuous, and material bodily settings that expose us to feelings of general alienation.

Terzić uses the human body to step into fields such as vulnerability, power, sensuality, and identity, as well as other complex human states. The narrative he builds through this series is followed by gestures and relations between two figures, and the accentuated artistry provokes and often plays with iconography well known from the history of art. Through a series of sequences, Terzić addresses the body on different levels – first as a form, then as a manifestation of internal conflict, a testimony to life experience, and finally as a tool for intimacy and communication through gestures related to another body.

Inspired by and with his filmmaking background, the author creates seemingly surreal scenes as a reminiscence of dreams, questioning the concepts of beauty and encouraging the viewer to look deeper into each image and consider what is hidden from view.

Miroslav Miša Terzić is a well-known director and screenwriter. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Belgrade and attended postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. Since the 1990s, he has been actively working on film and television, as well as commercials and video spots with the largest advertising agencies in the region. The most famous films he worked on are “Šavovi” (2019) and “Ustanička ulica” (2012). His authentic photographic work is rarely seen by the public, yet it reflects a unique perspective that complements his cinematic vision.
