WHITE SHEET (Street Poetry on Passive Body), by Darius Bogdanowicz

FRIDAY 10/10 · 17:00 – 18:00
Kućica at Cvetni trg (KCB)

During a stretch of time, I remain still in a busy public place, offering my body for the passers-by to express their emotions, desires and dreams. They write with markers I hold in my hands. I do not express any emotion or feeling. They do the work. I become a collective poem, a cadavre exquis.

SALVANDO LAS DISTANCIAS (video documentation), by Darius Bogdanowicz

FRIDAY 18:00 – 22:00
SATURDAY 17:00 – 22:00
Kućica at Cvetni trg (KCB)

Salvando las distancias [saving the distances] is a spanish idiom used to express that apart from the obvious differences, A and B are exactly the same.

On the 5th of September 2018, together with the congolese afrobeat artist Mapipo Yeyo, we walked alongside an area of fence of Moria migrant detention Camp. The only obstacle between us being the fence itself. Mapipo walked inside the camp he was detained in, Darius walked outside. At a chosen moment, we traversed one of the holes in the fence to exchange positions. We then continued walking for a stretch of time, Mapipo outside the camp, Darius inside.

Both performances are part of the research for the novel Festival.

Author and performer Darius Bogdanowicz is based in Brussels. He works across literature, expanded publishing, and performance, with a particular focus on transdisciplinary formats and experimental writing.
