» Palestine: History and Narrative Through Culture and Art
On Saturday, May 9 at 8 PM, a special screening of the film Palestine 36 by director Annemarie Jacir will be held at the Hall of the Belgrade Cultural Centre. The film was the official Palestinian submission for the 2025 Academy Awards.

Prior to the screening, a discussion will be held on the representation of Palestine and its culture, primarily through film and literature, as well as on the ways Palestinian cultural heritage is treated. Participants in the discussion include archaeologist Duška Radosavljević and Đorđe Vidojević, a member of the collective “For a Free Palestine.”

This historical drama focuses on the beginnings of the Palestinian uprising against the British occupation in 1936 through the story of a young man who joins the revolt, an Arab journalist from Jerusalem, and members of the British delegation among whom disagreements arise regarding the governance of the occupied territory.
