“Contemporary Art in the post-Yugoslav Space: Case Studies in Hauntology” ▪︎ Panel Discussion about the Book

The anthology Contemporary Art in the post-Yugoslav Space: Case Studies in Hauntology was published by Routledge Books in New York and London in 2025. Edited by Jon Blackwood and Jasmina Tumbas, the book focuses on the cultural and material legacies of the Yugoslav socialist period and their mutations in late capitalism.

On Tuesday, May 26, at 6 p.m., at the Artget Gallery, there will be a panel discussion on the main themes of the book and individual contributions, featuring Jon Blackwood, Maja Ćirić, and Jelena Petrović, who will come together in a critical discussion to launch the book in Serbia and discuss the implications that theoretical notions of hauntology, queerness, and non-alignment may have for the ongoing discussion of the Yugoslav past in contemporary times.
